The blaze was reported about 1:30 a.m. on the fifth floor — the top floor of the building at 8 North Main St., in the elevator machine room.

ATTLEBORO — A small fire in the Bronson Building downtown was quickly extinguished early Saturday morning.
The blaze was reported about 1:30 a.m. on the fifth floor — the top floor of the building at 8 North Main St., in the elevator machine room.
Part of an exhaust fan fell onto a chair and ignited it, causing the fire and filling the area with smoke, a fire official said. The blaze was put out by a fire extinguisher and the area was ventilated.
